Response to ERPC Announcement
Far Exceeds Expectations

[Return to Newsletter]

Praise God for raising up a denomination true to His Word in this day. This is exciting and wonderful, and such an answer to prayer.

May the Lord bless this much needed new denomination!

I will be fervently praying for the good success of the ERPC. It is a step that is long overdue.

I am a PCA pastor and am very interested in what you are doing for God's glory.

Our church is in the process of leaving the OPC. Please keep us posted on your efforts.

Praise the Lord!  An answer to the dilemma presented by the controversy!

In great earnest our prayers are with this move forward!

These are some of the comments from the over 8,000 people who have visited our web site since we announced formation of the ERPC on May 17th. Hundreds of you have e-mailed and phoned us with inquiries and messages of support. Existing churches and newly-forming congregations in several parts of the country have contacted the ERPC Organizing Committee about possible affiliation.

Since the outpouring of response far exceeded our expectations, it took us about ten days to clear the backlog of e-mail and phone messages. We are now up to date, and thank you for your patience!

Visitors to the ERPC web site have viewed over 57,000 total pages of information.  Several of you told us that you printed copies of web pages for distribution in your churches. We have created printer-friendly versions of many pages to help you do that.

Many of you asked questions about our Organizing Committee, the background leading to the announcement of the ERPC, our distinctives, and future direction. In response, we have been updating the web site content every few days, and we have now created a Frequently-Asked Questions area.

Many of you also told how Shepherdism, the Federal Vision, the New Perspective on Paul, and associated errors have taken hold or receive a sympathetic hearing in your own churches.  We learned, for example, of elders who are being required to agree to the false doctrine that "infants are savingly united to Christ through baptism and remain so until they apostatize." Some have been deposed from office for refusing to agree. This statement contains a double error: First, baptism is not the instrument of our salvation, faith in Christ is (John 1:12-13, Romans 10:8-11). Secondly, those who truly believe in Christ can never lose their salvation (John 10:28-29; Hebrews 7:25, 9:12-15.)  The Lord is calling His people to take a stand firmly for the authentic Gospel, and against such false teachings. A great and effective door has opened to us, and there are many adversaries.
